Heat Pump Sales in the UK

Dive into the latest figures on heat pump sales, showcasing the growth in UK heat pump sales.

Our statistics are gathered through a combination of utilising data provided by HPA UK manufacturing members and using market estimation techniques to extrapolate the data to represent the full UK Heat Pump market.

This data includes factory gate sales of Air-to-Water (A2W) monobloc units, Air-to-Water (A2W) split units, Ground and Water Source units, domestic hot water heat pumps (DHWHP) and “other”- which includes , Exhaust Air Heat Pumps and Integrated Hybrid Heat Pumps.

NOTE:
1. It does not include air to air heat pumps and therefore makes it incomparable to many EU data sources.
2. Prior to 2024, DHWHP are included in the “Other Heat Pumps” figures.
3. In March 2025 the previously reported numbers for Ground/Water Source Heat Pumps were retrospectively updated, representing increased levels of sales evidenced in additional data that became available for the whole period 2019-2024.
4. UK Manufactured is defined as to ‘Be wholly produced, manufactured, or assembled within the UK, or have been significantly changed through a treatment or process within the UK.”  “Significantly changed’ occurs when the UK based manufacturing or processing gives the heat pump its essential character. This means UK processes involve the manufacture or assembly of multiple major internal component systems (e.g. integration of the refrigerant circuit, charging and sealing of the system, installation of heat exchangers, integrating electronics, adding the hydronic water circuit, etc.) to create a finished unit that is materially different from its imported parts.
