Heat Pump Sales in the UK
Dive into the latest figures on heat pump sales, showcasing the growth in UK heat pump sales.
Our statistics are gathered through a combination of utilising data provided by HPA UK manufacturing members and using market estimation techniques to extrapolate the data to represent the full UK Heat Pump market.
This data includes factory gate sales of Air-to-Water (A2W) monobloc units, Air-to-Water (A2W) split units, Ground and Water Source units, domestic hot water heat pumps (DHWHP) and “other”- which includes , Exhaust Air Heat Pumps and Integrated Hybrid Heat Pumps.

To the left you’ll find HPA UK data gathered on the number of individuals who successfully completed training to install Heat Pumps in the UK.
NOTES:
- Data referenced in this release is based on the number of individuals who have successfully completed one of the Heat Pump training courses that are eligible for the Heat Training Grant.
- The data does not include apprenticeships. The Low Carbon Heating Technician Apprenticeship was approved in 2023, and the first completed apprenticeships will begin to be reported towards the end of 2026. To the end of Q1 2026, 441 individuals had completed the Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician apprenticeship which has been active since 2018.
Cumulative total of individuals trained to install heat pumps in the UK
To the right you’ll find HPA UK data gathered on the cumulative total of individuals who successfully completed training to install Heat Pumps in the UK.
The targets are expressed as upper and lower estimates of the training needed to meet the Warm Homes Plan target of installing over 450,000 heat pumps per year by 2030.
The upper estimate would provide the maximum flexibility of trained resource to react to growing demand and is based on the expected workforce in 2035 which is beyond the period of the Warm Homes Plan.
The lower estimate is the absolute minimum training necessary to meet the Warm Homes Plan by 2030 and would require an increased training rate from 2030 to 2035.
